MASSACRE.

RED IS MY FAVOURITE COLOUR, AND THE COMBINATION OF RED AND BLACK FOR ME....WOW!!

I wanted to do my bit to get this sickening story to as many people as possible, and as far around the world as is possible.

I have even more admiration than usual if I'm seeing a....'celebrity getting his hands dirty'....and this man has done himself proud on this one, and in my view a dangerous one too. But take note he says that for many years he has lobbied the UK's bird charities to campaign to raise awareness about the slaughter of migrant birds on Malta. And that he equally tried to stimulate television programme makers to cover the issue both without success, but no surprise there to me I should add.

Well done the television companies who take him on to present nature programmes, but wouldn't take him on with this much more powerfully important issue.....Read On

  1. I watched the first two episodes of this reportage this morning with tears in my eyes, Pete. I'm not usually a fan of Chris Packham - I got put off by his Spring Watch persona (which I suspect was dictated by the programmes producers, as Bill Oddie also seemed to loose the plot in the series) - but I'm full of admiration of the way he is intelligently producing and presenting the situation in Malta. I now feel obliged to do something, particulalrly as I have past connections to the island.

  3. Richard....I just watched Episode 3 of Chris Packhams Video Diary on Malta and ended up in a fit of depression when I saw him holding the doomed Turtle Dove waiting to die with a gunshot wound at its shoulder and obviously blinded in one eye. If this didn't bring at least a sigh if not a tear to the viewer of this, then I'm afraid you can no longer be regarded as a lover of birds let alone wanting anyone to call you a birder.

    Ana....Yes, terrible.

Warren....CP has moved up a few thousand notches on my list on this one, and he's on dangerous territory too.

  5. Isidro....Yes very sad that things like this still happen in the 21st century. But the 21st century means nothing to these people and this is an uphill struggle to do anything about let alone bring it to an end.

Good to hear from you Isidro and Thank You.
