I can't get out birding at the moment - I'm not up to it - and I can't think of a better way to fill the gap than this to spread the word.
Seeing is believing....I used this expression in my post about seeing in excess of 1,000 Fieldfare and Redwing recently, and it's appropriate that it's used here again.
We have to stop these vile monsters who breathe the same air that we do on this planet.
THEY STILL FOX HUNT. THE BAN IS NOT ENFORCED, SO SABS MONITOR IN HOPES TO ENFORCE IT & GET HUNTS PROSECUTED IF THEY MURDER. #SABTHEHUNT #KEEPTHEBAN pic.twitter.com/HxOOmSTQtU— Charlotte Smith (@Charlotte_0499) December 27, 2019
Utter scum. It's no surprise that society is falling apart when you have the likes of these people around. What does surprise me is that the police are often seen chasing and arresting Hare coursers which they should but clearly turn a blind eye to the fox hunting. We have a completely broken society with regards to nature. Young kids don't appreciate nature. They are nurtured on games to kill. There are however a few high profile youngsterswe see who promote the natural world. Good on them. I would like to see King Boris changing this law to protect the foxes and ban his barbaric event but we all know that won't happen.
ReplyDeleteAnd breathe... moan over! Wishing you and your family Pete a very Happy New Year.
It's impossible to see such atrocities, Pete, without feeling deep concern about the dangerous mental state of of the perpetrators. I'm for a total ban on all hunting and shooting activities unless they are individually licenced for pest-control situations - and then I'm not totally convinced about that side of things either as it's open to abuse and ill-informed decisions, such as Badger culls.
ReplyDeleteA couple of years ago I used to think how lucky I was to have a life in a country that had become relatively free of wars and barbarity. I now realise that I was wrong, and that the barbarity seems to be on the increase. In my remaing time, I shall be doing whatever I can to assist in bringing these pastimes to an end.
I hope that 2020 brings you better health, Pete, and that you have a wonderful bird-filled year. With my very best wishes to you and yours - - - Richard
Marc/Richard....Two good responses to this terrible situation with regard to a 'banned sport'. In the case of Marc who 'works'with the kids he mentions, and who therefore is in full command of comments like those who don't appreciate nature, but then goes on to identify those few kids who do, and his closing comment on Mr Johnson was spot on.
ReplyDeleteBy the way Marc....There's no way I would categorize your feedback as a 'moan'.
Very Best Wishes for 2020 to you both and all.
